what to wear with a long cardigan

What to wear with a long cardigan?

The long cardigan is my go-to for adding a little flair to an everyday casual white top and blue jeans ensemble (you may also have heard it being referred to as a duster). Long cardigans come in a variety of styles, with some ending just below the knee and others ending just a few inches above the floor.

For us, the sweet spot is in the center, about mid-calf just above the ankles. If you're new to the long cardigan trend, it might feel a little strange at first. I have to tell you how much I adore this look and how easy it is to achieve. When you get your hands on this longline open cardigan, it will quickly become your go-to piece for running errands or going out to a casual dinner.

Which hat should I wear with a long cardigan?

Top: Since the long cardigan already has a lot of fabric, I suggest avoiding bulky, thick-knit fabrics. Otherwise, there will be so much going on and it will not be very attractive. The principle of ‘less is enough' is applicable here.

As a result, anything easy like a white top would suffice. This long-sleeve V-neck top is what I'm wearing. It's made of a lightweight fleece material that's the softest thing you've ever felt! It's ideal for layering. A standard V-neck or crewneck can be worn in the spring. Under long cardigans, bodysuits are also a great choice.

Bottoms: Leggings and slim or straight leg jeans look great with a long cardigan. I adore a nice pair of worn-in jeans. I like how the distressing and rips break up the color when you're wearing all solids. Although my exact jeans are no longer available, I've included links to similar pairs.

Shoes: You may wear this cardigan with flat shoes, but I think a heeled bootie adds a little more height to the look. Here, I'm wearing my favorite booties. They're still on sale!

How to wear several different earrings?

Even though the long cardigan is a great statement piece on its own, incorporating jeweler never hurts. Ear cuffs and dainty earrings are my new obsession.

I have two piercings on my face, so I like to wear dainty hoops like this and this to cover them up. The ear cuffs are simple to put on and are cute. Since my ears are formed large at the end, I wear my hoop earrings closer to my ears.

You can wear it lower, closer to your ear's center, or anywhere you like! If you wear them higher up and they feel a little loose, the ear cuffs have a little give to them, so you can pinch them a little tighter.

How to style jeans with a long cardigan?

Soft, woolly cardigans add an extra layer and can be bulky, but with the right trousers, this look can be avoided. When paired with a long cardigan, wide-leg pants or baggy jeans can make you look boxy and frumpy. If you want a more colored vibe, bootcut jeans that are slim in the thighs with a slight flare at the hem will look amazing, but even then, you'll need to wear heels.

Slim, straight-leg jeans are perfect, but skinny jeans are the most convenient and fashionable choice. Slimming and modern, a long cardigan worn over skinny jeans.
