Jacket to wear overdress to wedding

Jacket to wear overdress to wedding

What to wear if you're stumped as to what to wear over your wedding guest gown (or jumpsuit or whatever).

Because of the heatwave, I went to a wedding last Saturday expecting it to be hot. Instead, that was not the case. It was a cold day. If only the summer imposter - summer - hadn't fooled me.

Even though I bought my dress in the sales in January, I hadn't planned on what to wear over it, and it was too late by Saturday. I had no choice but to shiver, which I did.

Make certain you don't make the same error. Always be prepared. I (now) recommend bringing a sweater, even if the wedding is in the summer, and I still recommend bringing a backup dress/jumpsuit/whatever you fancy in case you turn up in the same dress as someone else.

It's worth mentioning that I used the word "jacket" instead of "coat." You may be wondering about the pashmina. No, that is not right. In 2018, a pashmina isn't fitting. Also, do not do it.

Coats for a Winter Wedding That Will Keep You Looking Elegant

As a wedding guest and a lover of the bride and groom, you have no say in the location and timing of the wedding. So, if the happy couple chooses a winter wedding, you should be prepared with what to wear to a winter wedding, particularly if it is held outside.

Wearing a jacket over a gown or dress to a wedding may be inconvenient for those who want to show off their stunning gown or dress, so why not make the coat a statement in and of itself? Wedding coats for guests maybe even more stunning than the gown; you may not want to take them off at all and wear them as your evening ensemble. If you're unsure what to wear over a formal dress in the winter, look no further than the choices below.

    The black-on-black attack

If you're going to a wedding in all black (you should, after all), use the chance to de-funeralize it with a stunning dress. Choose a bold color (and maybe some matching heels) and smooth material. I like the kimono theme, and it's even better when it comes with a belt.

    Cape Cape-styles

Are what bikers to other leather jackets when it comes to blazers. They're just a smidgeon cooler. The Zara cape shown above is also available in black, but you can wear a white jacket over your wedding guest dress if the rest of your ensemble isn't white.

Meghan Markle is a British royal

This new belted coat from H&M is available now for the new season, and it's a lovely look to layer over a wedding guest gown during the colder months. When Meghan Markle became engaged to Prince Harry, she popularized the look.

In case you were curious, you can wear a trench in the slightly colder months. A clean and tidy belted trench.

    The Harvest

You may wear a crop top with a jacket, as I've previously said. Over a high-waisted skirt, jeans, or dress with a cinched waist, a little cropped jacket like the military-style from PLT would look lovely.
