How to wear a cap

How to wear a cap?

Wearing a cap has several advantages, including relieving you of the burden of having to style your hair on bad days. But, with so many different ways to wear a cap, how do you know you're doing it in a way that's not only stylish but also helps you stand out for the right reasons?

Hats come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and different models can complement different outfits better, so we've compiled a list of our favorite ways to style your chosen headwear.

Straight forward Baseball Caps

The most popular way to wear this hat, and hats in general, is with the brim just above the brows, and contrary to their original intent, it doesn't have to be sunny to function!

Wearing a baseball cap in its traditional form looks great and, unlike other styles, does not include a specific head shape. This hat style has evolved, and it is now available in leather, suede, silk, and cotton.

Baseball caps are a timelessly practical and virtually timeless accessory that will never look out of place, regardless of age. Whether you're a young student or on the far side of 40, a cap will never look out of place.

Wearing a cap backward (assuming your hair situation is under control!) will add a really laid-back look to any casual outfit, but the snapback is a much better choice for this.

Backward snapback

The rise of the snapback is mainly due to its usage in hip-hop culture, and wearing it backward has been a major success since its recent revolution! The advantage of this hat design is that it suits almost every head shape and height.

For this look, choosing the right hat color is crucial because it can either ruin or make your outfit. While we recommend avoiding color clashes as much as possible, snapbacks are designed to be worn casually, so pinks and other bright colors are popular.

Front to back is the most common way to wear the snapback, with the front of your hair pulled back into the gap. Allow the hat to rub against your head; balancing it is clearly not a good idea.

Straight Forwards – Flat Cap

Whether you like it or not, the flat cap is back, and it's not just the elderly who are wearing it.

Previously, this elegant hat could only be worn with more formal, gentlemanly clothing, but now it can be used as the focal point of a much more modern casual ensemble, such as a jacket and jeans or something in between.

This hat is a fantastic alternative to the baseball cap, which can be worn in the same manner as the baseball cap – forwards (sorry if any Samuel L Jackson fans are reading).

Keep the colors simple or in line with your chosen outfit while wearing the flat hat, and you'll be sure to make the right impression.

Final words

To be honest, there's a hat for every guy, and if the styles we've covered aren't your style, there are plenty more to explore, such as the fedora and the beanie. If you think your desired style isn't particularly fashionable or cool, just be yourself and wear what makes you happy.

Keep in mind that fashion is constantly evolving, with items going in and out of style. The most important thing to remember is to wear your hat proudly and comfortably; it's not a good look to have a bright red ring in the center of your forehead because your hat is too close!
